About Jeremy & Sandy

Jeremy and Sandy Who are we? That is a great question. First and foremost, we are passionately in love with Jesus Christ! We have been married for 17 years and have 3 beautiful kids; Caleb (14), Joshua (9) and Eryn (6). Jeremy was raised in a Southern Baptist pastor’s home. Sandy was raised in an Assemblies of God deacon’s home. Jeremy began his relationship with Jesus at age 3. Sandy began her relationship with Jesus at age 6. We both began singing publicly at the age of 4. We both majored in Music Education. Jeremy attended Amarillo College and Sandy attended ORU. We have been ministering together almost from the moment we were married. We have been children’s pastors, youth pastors, worship pastors, senior pastors and church planters. We are currently the Burn Amarillo Directors which is part of a worship and prayer movement called Burn 24-7 (www.burn24-7.com).

Our Musical Background:

Jeremy and Sandy are both classically trained musicians. As a child, Sandy studied private voice and classical piano. Jeremy sang gospel music with his brothers and parents. Both received awards throughout their Junior High and High School years and also received several vocal scholarships to attend college.

Jeremy and Sandy met in the choir at Caprock High School where they were both first chair in their sections. Jeremy sang 2nd bass and Sandy was a 1st Soprano. They also performed in the Show Choir together. While at Caprock, Jeremy and Sandy won several music contests including UIL wins for choir, section, and solo performances. After High School Jeremy attended Amarillo Collage and Sandy went to Oral Roberts University. They were both Music Education majors.

While at AC, Jeremy’s vocal range began to change from Bass to Baritone, and eventually to Tenor. Sandy transferred from ORU to AC in 1991 so that she could marry Jeremy.

As Directors of Burn Amarillo, Jeremy and Sandy have been called to bring worship leaders from all over Amarillo (and the surrounding areas) together. At each “Burn” you can experience many different kinds of worship from very traditional instrumental music to contemporary worship. There is more to the Burn than music, but music is a large part of each Burn. Visit www.BurnAmarillo.com for more information.

Our Vision:

We believe that the words of David (the psalmist and king) are true.

King David plays his harp
How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
It’s like costly anointing oil
flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron’s beard,
flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon
flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that’s where God commands the blessing,
ordains eternal life. Psalm 133 (MSG)

We have watched for years as churches have tried time and time again to offer more programs only to have great disappointment when those programs fail to change people. We also have watched as “worship” has become more about a style of music than lifestyle. Although many people may prefer a certain style of music in their worship gatherings, we have found that none of that matters if our goal is to invite the presence of God to invade our lives. The presence of God is the only thing that can change a person’s heart. Just one encounter with the living God can change a person’s life forever.

Our vision is to see people walk into the purpose and destiny that God has planned for them from the beginning of time. We were all born for such a time as this. We desire to see the Bride of Jesus Christ (The Church) awaken and begin to walk in Her purpose. Her purpose is to be so consumed with the presence of God, that when the world looks at us, they see Jesus. And as we become more like Jesus, we will walk in unity. Unity does not mean that we all have to look and act the same. Unity is looking past all of our differences and finding what we do agree on; Jesus is THE way to heaven. There is no other name by which man can be saved.
